Application Process

STEP 1:  Complete the online application and pay the $75.00 Application Fee.  Online payments will be accepted beginning May 10, 2024.  Checks shall be made payable to The Guardian Retreat (put The Guardian Academy Application Fee on the memo line please) and mailed to The Guardian Academy, 19500 Horse Shoe Road Charles City, VA 23030.  Only one application fee will be due per family.  

STEP 2:  Once the Application Fee has been received, the Guardian Academy Team will review the application.  Applicants will be contacted to schedule an interview at the farm.  We want to ensure that every family invited to join our academy is the right fit.  While it sounds nice to most to visit and work on a farm, it is not the right fit for some.  You need to decide if our immersive environment is the right fit for your family.  This can only be achieved by visiting the farm.   

STEP 3: The Guardian Academy Team will meet to discuss if your family and our academy are a good fit.  An invitation to join us will be offered to those we feel will be a good fit.  A thank you letter will be mailed to those who are not.  

STEP 4:  A deposit will be due upon acceptance of your invitation to our academy.  The deposit is the first month's tuition ($500 per student for our two day program, $350 per student for our one day program).  We do offer a 10% sibling discount.  The first student will be full price and each additional sibling will be 10% off of the per student rate.  A student qualifies for a sibling discount if they are the biological or adopted sibling of the first student and they reside in the same household.  Please make checks payable to The Guardian Retreat (put The Guardian Academy Deposit on the memo line please) and mail it to 19500 Horse Shoe Road Charles City, VA 23030.  Receipt of your deposit will secure your spot at The Guardian Academy.  Please note: Online payments by credit card will be accepted beginning May 10, 2024.

If accepted into The Guardian Academy, our family agrees that we will:

  • Strive to promote unity within The Guardian Academy. 

  • Do our best to preserve the reputation of The Guardian Academy when participating in community events/activities.

  • Adhere to the Rules and Guidelines set forth by The Guardian Academy, participate to the best of our abilities and actively engage with other academy families. I understand that continuation of participation is dependent upon adherence to this code of conduct and that all decisions concerning membership will be decided upon by the leadership team for the benefit of the group at large.

Requirements: 

  • Completion of application.  Membership is subject to Leadership team approval and current openings.

  • Agree to assist as needed, and bring a willingness to serve so that the academy can run smoothly and efficiently.

Tuition Rate:

  • Two Day Program: $500 per student (age 7 to 12) per month (September through May). 

  • One Day Program: $350 per student (age 7 to 12) per month (September through May).

A 10% discount will be offered for additional siblings.

  • A yearly supply fee will be due at the start of the school year.

  • Some field trips will require additional costs per family, which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Payment Schedule:

  • First month tuition will be required to hold your students spot. This will be due at the time of acceptance in to The Guardian Academy.

  • Monthly Tuition will be due on the first of each month thereafter.  Ex:  October’s tuition will be due October 1st.

    • If tuition is not received by the 7th of the month, the student will be placed on probation.

    • If tuition is not received by the 15th of the month, the student will be expelled.

    • If tuition is late three times, the student will be expelled. 

Application Fee:

  • A $75 application fee is due at the time of application submittal.  There is no charge for additional sibling applications. Online payments by credit card will be accepted beginning May 10, 2024. Please mail a check made payable to The Guardian Retreat (put The Guardian Academy Application Fee on the memo line please) to 19500 Horse Shoe Road Charles City, VA 23030.  This application will be reviewed once the application fee is received.
